SGPA Calculation

  • SGPA = Σ (Credit × Grade Point) / Σ Credits
  • Calculated for each semester separately
  • All courses including labs and projects considered
  • Minimum SGPA of 5.0 required to pass semester

CGPA Calculation

  • CGPA = Σ (All Credits × Grade Points) / Σ All Credits
  • Cumulative grade point average of all semesters
  • Final degree classification based on CGPA
  • CGPA ≥ 7.5 for First Class with Distinction

Important academic policies every student must follow

Admission & Enrollment

  • Students must complete admission formalities within specified dates
  • Course registration mandatory at the beginning of each semester
  • Minimum and maximum credit limits per semester to be maintained
  • Late enrollment subject to fine as per institute policy
  • No student shall be enrolled without payment of fees

Internal Assessment

  • Continuous internal evaluation throughout the semester
  • Three internal tests with best two considered for evaluation
  • Assignment and quiz submissions carry weightage
  • Lab internals based on experiments, viva, and record
  • Project evaluation includes review presentations

Examination Rules

  • End semester examination conducted as per academic calendar
  • Students must carry valid hall ticket and ID card
  • Minimum 75% attendance required for exam eligibility
  • Malpractice in exams leads to severe disciplinary action
  • Revaluation and photocopy facility available as per rules

Re-examination & Backlog

  • Supplementary exams conducted for failed students
  • Maximum number of backlogs allowed per semester specified
  • Student must clear all backlogs before final year
  • Improvement exams allowed for CGPA enhancement
  • Additional fees applicable for re-examination

Academic Integrity

  • Plagiarism strictly prohibited in assignments and projects
  • Proper citation and referencing mandatory for research work
  • Original work expected in all academic submissions
  • Code of conduct to be followed in all academic activities

Examination Notification

Examination schedule and time table published at least 15 days before commencement. Students must check notice boards and official website regularly for updates.

Hall Ticket Generation

Students must download hall tickets from student portal after verification of attendance and fee payment. No entry without valid hall ticket and ID card.

Examination Rules

Report to examination hall 15 minutes before start time. Electronic devices, books, and notes strictly prohibited. Follow seating arrangement as per hall ticket.

Answer Script Submission

Write correctly on answer booklet cover. No additional sheets after time completion. Submit answer script to invigilator before leaving examination hall.

Result Declaration

Results published on student portal within 30 days. Students can apply for revaluation or photocopy within 7 days of result declaration with prescribed fees.

Important Guidelines

Fee Payment

All semester fees must be paid within the stipulated time. Late payment attracts fine. No student will be allowed to attend classes without fee payment.

Documentation

Students must maintain all academic records, mark sheets, and certificates safely. Lost documents will be issued duplicate with prescribed fees.

Conduct & Discipline

Students are expected to maintain decorum and follow institute code of conduct. Ragging is strictly prohibited and punishable by law.

Communication

All official communications will be through institute email and notice boards. Students must check regularly for important updates and circulars.

Leave Policy

Leave applications must be submitted in advance with valid reasons. Medical leave requires doctor's certificate. Attendance shortage due to unauthorized absence is not condoned.

Library Rules

Library books must be returned on time. Fine applicable for late returns. Lost or damaged books must be replaced or paid for at current market price.
